Thermoluminescence studies on glass and crystalline samples of Li2B4O7

  • 1. Laser Materials Development and Devices Division, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)

Description

The glassy and crystalline samples of Li2B4O7 were prepared and the thermoluminescence properties were studied and compared. The single crystals were grown by Czochralski technique and the glass was prepared by the simple glass quenching technique. The polished crystal and glass wafers were irradiated with different Gamma dose using 60Co source. TL spectra were recorded and analyzed for irradiated wafers as a function of dose level, temperature and the irradiation time. It has been observed that TL intensity is more (> 500 times) in case of crystalline sample than the glassy sample having same mass and irradiated with same dose. (author)
