Monitoring radiation damage of reactor structural materials

Description

The effects are described of neutrons on the material of the pressure vessel. The most important change in the properties of the material is radiation embrittlement and radiation hardening. The effect of parameters of the neutron field is assessed, i.e., the neutron energy spectrum and total neutron fluence. The procedure of evaluation of radiation damage to the material of the pressure vessel is shown on a diagram. (E.S.)
