Description

At the outset the authors noted that the energy scale of the SSC might not be well suited to K0 physics. In part, they have confirmed that suspicion. Rare K0 decay experiments have been ruled out as a class. The conclusion that can be drawn for a precision measurement of ε'ε is more uncertain. The beam quality possible at the SSC appears promising and high energies help achieve large acceptance, but the fall of vertical bar rho vertical bar2 with increasing energy is an insuperable fact of nature. The good beam quality appears to make an active regenerator a promising possibility, but the actual suppression this buys is very difficult to estimate without data. Other uncertainties can apparently be controlled well enough to measure ε'ε to +-.0002 (stat.)+-.0003(syst.). These errors must ultimately be compared to what is achievable at BNL or other low energy facilities that might exist before the SSC
