Description
The process of nuclear fission remains one of the long standing puzzle in the field of nuclear physics since last 80 years. While the importance of shell effects in the nascent fragments is well-established for low-energy fission of (trans-) actinides, the origin of asymmetric fission of n-deficient Hg, and more generally, pre-actinides, remains un-explained. Studied in the present work is 28Si+165Ho system, producing 193Tl with the CN excitation energy above saddle (E-saddle) in the range of 16 to 30 MeV
