Influence of low dose γ-rays on laying egg property of hen

Description

The Harbin white breeding eggs were irradiated by γ-rays. The results showed that low dose irradiation stimulated the embryo development of fertilized eggs, increasing the hatching rate by 6.86% and the healthy bird rate by 5.52%. The egg production rate of the irradiated generation hens was increased by 8.03%, the first laying egg date of the second irradiated generation hens was shifted 6 to 7 weeks earlier and the egg production period was prolonged. 72-week egg production was raised by 10.48%
