Detection of an infected haematoma by an 111In-labelled leukocyte scan: a case report
- 1. Kent and Canterbury Hospital (UK)
- 2. Buckland Hospital, Dover (UK)
Description
A case is reported of the successful detection of an infected abdominal haematoma by an 111In-labelled leukocyte scan (ILLS). It was shown that an ILLS is a more sensitive test than a simple abscess detector; it demonstrated leukocyte migration following the stimulus of infection in advance of pus formation. (U.K.)
