Numerical simulation of a cylindrical Z-pinch with pulsed gas injection

Description

Numerical simulation of phenomena, occurring at compression of a cylindrical Z-pinch with pulsed gas injection is carried out at the approximation of single-liquid two-temperature magnetic hydrodynamics with viscosity account. Comparison of pinch characteristics with gas injection in the form of hollow and nonhollow cylindrical is carried out. It is shown, that modern Gas-Puff technique allows to obtain plasma with rather higher density n > 1021 cm-3 and temperature Ti >or approx. 10 keV
