Atomic configurations of interstitials in intermetallic compound Nb3Sn
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Fiziki Metallov
Description
Interstitials in Nb3Sn are investigated by molecular dynamics technique. It is shown that around the interstitials the atomic displacements are appreciably larger than around the vacancies and antisite replacements. It is concluded that this phenomenon must lead to amorphization of Nb3Sn under irradiation with light charged particles at low temperatures. (author)
