Quality assurance: a practical programme

A report is given of a quality assurance programme for diagnostic X-ray equipment including cassettes, screens, film and X-ray machines at a Manchester hospital; the programme has been in operation for a number of years. It outlines 1) the tests or type of monitoring undertaken; 2) the problems encountered in implementing the programme and 3) faults which were noted or confirmed by the tests. The conclusions arising from each part of the programme are given. (U.K.)
