Group-theoretic structure of chiral SUsub(n) x SUsub(n) representation mixing
Description
It is shown that the 2n2-2 operators that generate the chiral SUsub(n) x SUsub(n) group of current algebra can be extended by adjointing a set of 2n2+1 operators, that transform as the singlet plus the (n,n-bar) + (n-bar,n) representations of the chiral SUsub(n) x SUsub(n) group of current algebra, such that the complete set of 4n2-1 operators closes on the algebra of SUsub(2n). Within this SUsub(2n) group, there exist two overlapping SUsub(n) x SUsub(n) subgroups that are connected by a unitary transformation. The relation of this group theoretic structure to chiral SUsub(n) x SUsub(n) representation mixing is discussed. (author)
