Studies on Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Uo2(II) complexes of Schiff bases derived from salicylaldehyde and tris(hydroxymethyl)-aminomethane and 2-amino-2-methylpropanediol
Description
Two new Schiff base ligands, a pentadentate one (DH2) and a tetradentate one (EH2) have been prepared respectively by the reaction of salicylaldehyde with tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane and 2-amino-2-methyl propanediol. Coordination complexes of some transition metals including uranium (IV) with these ligands have been isolated and characterised on the basis of visible and infrared spectra, magnetic moments, elemental analysis and thermogravimetry.
