A note on the existing shock compression data of solid polycrystalline tungsten at 1223 K

Description
In the present paper we show that the low estimates of the Grueneisen parameter (γ) of tungsten derived from the shock compression experiments of Rohde are a manifestation of two errors: (i) The Hugoniot of tungsten at 1223 K as determined by Rohde is invalid and (ii) the assumption concerning the elastic-plastic behavior of tungsten at least at room temperature is not true
