Possibilities of the determination of neutral weak current contribution in experiments on studying the e+e- → μ-μ+ process in cross-polarized colliding beams

Description

The e++e-→μ-+μ+ process is considered for arbitrary polarizations of all the particles on the basis of a number of models : the Weinberg-Salam, Lee-Prentky-Zumino, vector and X-model and under the assumption of the V-A structure of neutral weak currents. The polarization effects in the case of cross-polarized colliding beams are analyzed in detail, and various possible ways of determining the contributions from neutral weak currents are discussed, which is important not only to obtain information about their structure but also for the experimental assessment of the sign of the weak interaction constant. The calculations show that at attainable energies the presence of neutral weak currents may cause considerable polarization effects which are sensitive to model selection
