Studies of DNA damage and repair of thermal- and radiation-induced lesions in human cells
Description
Experimental results obtained on three strains of embryonic fibroblasts showed that heating at 440C ± 0.10C for 30 min induced in the DNA of each cell an average 1617 ± 724 apurinic sites and SSB, the sum of which is designated as alkali-labile DNA lesions. Data also presented on the correlation between the sedimentation constant and DNA repair rate of skin fibroblasts of ST, No 34 and No 35 strains and other data presented elsewhere (Vilenchik et al, 1979) suggest the possibility of interindividual variability of DNA repair in human cells.
