Single and multiphonon resonances within the phonon damping model
Description
The Phonon Damping Model (PDM) has been proved to be successful in reproducing not only the width, but also experimentally observed shapes of hot GDR in 120Sn and 208Pb. This talk represents the main features of the PDM and its applications to: 1) a statistical analysis of the shape evolution of hot GDR in 120Sn; 2) a study of multiphonon GDRs, especially double and triple GDRs in heavy nuclei; 3) a study of damping of GDR in neutron-rich nuclei.
