Beam optics design of electron beam transport line from proposed injector linac to the booster synchrotron

  • 1. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)

Description

A beam transport line has been designed to transport a 30 MeV electron beam from the injector linac to the booster synchrotron for Indus accelerator facility at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology. The line has been designed considering the beam optics requirements and constraint of space available in the booster hall. The optics has been chosen in order to keep the beam sizes within acceptable limit in the line. To improve the injection efficiency into the booster synchrotron, the phase space parameters of the beam has been matched at the injection point of the booster synchrotron. In this paper, we discuss the evolution of design of electron beam optics of transport line from the linac injector to the booster synchrotron. (author)
