The solvent extraction and spectrophotometric determination of vanadium with 1-[(6-methyl-2-pyridyl) azo]-2-hydroxynaphthalene N-oxide
Description
The synthesis of the title reagent and its application to the spectrophotometric determination of traces of vanadium are described. The effects due to acidity, standing time, reagent concentration and diverse ions are reported. Beer's law is obeyed over the range 0.4-4.Oppm and the molar extinction coefficient at 562 nm is 8000.
