Description
Synchrotron microbeam radiation therapy (MRT) is a novel technique that uses a spatially fractionated field to induce cancer selectivity in treatment. Complemented with high-Z nanoparticles, MRT treatment of cancer becomes even more targeted and sparing of healthy tissue. For the first time, this study determines the factors that affect synchrotron microbeam activation therapy (SMART) using thulium nanoparticles (TmNPs). (author)
