Effect of X-radiation on at Pases activity of plasmatic membranes and other subcellular liver fractions

  • 1. AN Kazakhskoj SSR, Alma-Ata. Inst. Ehksperimental'noj Biologii

Description

A whole-body X-irradiation of rats (800 R) caused marked disturbances in the function of ion-stimulated Na+, K+, Mg++ - and HCO3--ATPases of the plasmatic membranes (PM), nuclear, mitochondrial and supernatant fractions and the homogenate of the liver. The activity of Na+, K+ -and HCO3 - ATPases decreased in all fractions under study and in the homogenate, the decrease being most pronounced in PM and the supernatant fraction. Mg++ -ATPase activity either increased or retained the control level. The changes observed were most drastic 60 minutes after irradiation
