A new realization of the Sp(2, R) algebra

Description

I present a new realization of the Sp(2, R) algebra and show its connections with a quantum anharmonic oscillator. This new realization admits only one unitary irreducible representation, comprising states with both even and odd parities. Coherent states for this realization exhibit squeezing, though weaker than the standard squeezed vacuum states. 1 fig., 9 refs. (author)
