Description
An update of developments of the general Japanese nuclear situation since an extensive coverage in Nuclear Europe's special issue of November/December 1989 is given. Tokio Electric's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa-2 and -5 (BWR's each 1100 MWe) began operation last year, bringing the total NPP energy production to 31480 MW (39 reactors). A nuclear power increase from 17.4% to 27% by the end of FY 2010 is anticipated (72 000 MW). 1 fig
