HBWR experience with in-core measurement of centre fuel temperatures with thermocouples
Creators
- 1. Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development, Halden (Norway). Halden Reactor Project
Description
At the Halden Project refractory metal thermocouples have been used to measure centre fuel temperatures in the Halden Boiling Heavy Water Reactor. Thermocouple types and mounting techniques are described, and experience with in-core application of some 150 such thermocouples at temperatures up to about 2500 deg C is discussed
