Measurement of residual polarization of negative muons in gaseous deuterium at 10 atm pressure

Description

In the experiment with a gaseous target filled with deuterium at 10 atm pressure the muon residual polarization has been measured. The value of initial polarization (to the moment of dμ atom formation in the 1s-state) has been obtained: Pμ=(7.2±2.1)%. This agrees with the theoretical predictions. 15 refs.; 5 figs.; 1 tab
