Description

Basic facts about RA research reactor are presented and the status of its systems and components is described. Different options for the future of the reactor are specified. Problems related to safe disposal of spent fuel, which are identified as the most urgent ones, and which have to be solved irrespective of a final decision for the reactor future, are discussed in detail. Some general conclusions about building and maintaining research facilities for the future of nuclear energy are drawn. (author)
