The crystal field levels in cerium-yttrium

Description
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements have been performed on the system Ce0.75Y0.25 to determine the crystal field level scheme of the cerium ions in the double hexagonal close packed structure. The level scheme obtained is discussed in relation to the magnetic ordering observed below 7 K. (orig.)
