Comparative evaluation of fracture properties of the 20 steel welded joints by arc and electron beam produced welding
- 1. Irkutskij Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Khimicheskogo Mashinostroeniya (USSR)
Description
Results are presented on comparative estimation for fracture toughness of arc and electron beam welded joints of the 20 steel high- pressure tubes. It has been stated that at temperature about 20 deg C both these joints have practically the same fracture toughness. At subzero temperatures the electron beam weld shows somewhat worse cracking resistance as compared to the arc weld
