An estimation of the structure function xF3 in neutrino-proton scattering
- 1. Isogo Senior High School, Yokohama, Kanagawa (Japan)
Description
The structure function xF3(x, Q2) in the deep-inelastic neutrino-proton scattering was estimated without differentiating with respect to Q2 in the evolution function. At first, the moment of the non-singlet structure function xF3(x, Q2) is defined. Then, the kernel function f(z, Q2) is presented. Finally, the expression for the structure function xF3 is given. The values of the structure function for various Q2 are shown in five figures. A peak is seen in each figure, and the highest peak is at about Q2 = 14GeV2. The analysis suggests very small value of xF3 in small Q2 region. The kernel function f(x/y, Q2) may be interpreted as the probability of finding a quark of momentum fraction x arising from that of y is quantum chromodynamics. (Kato, T.)
