Description
Radiologists are responsible for the radiation dose transmitted to their patients. It is important for them to understand the impact that technical variations have in radiation dose, image quality and diagnostic quality. The purpose of this article is to review basic radiation dose concepts, as well as those specially developed to computed tomography, demonstrate effects of various technical computed tomography factors on radiation dose and finally give suggestions and possibilities for patient dose reduction.
