Electron spin resonance spin-trapping analysis of γ-induced radicals in polycrystalline α-D-glucose

Description
γ-induced radicals in polycrystalline α-D-glucose are trapped with a water-ethanol solution of 2-nitroso-2-methylpropane. Five long-lived nitroxide spin-adducts are evidenced by electron spin resonance (ESR). Specifically labeled glucoses are also studied. Tentative assignments are discussed for each nitroxide radical. 3 figures, 2 tables
