Highlights: • The risk of hospital admissions, LoS, and costs increases as temperature increases. • This study provides evidence of climate impact taking account of population change. • The healthcare costs of projected heat-attributable admissions are expected to be high. • Strict emission control is needed to challenge the impacts of projected temperature. A growing number of studies have investigated the effect of increasing temperatures on morbidity and health service use. However, there is a lack of studies investigating the temperature-attributable cost burden.
