Studies of soft QCD at LHCb

  • 1. 'Horia Hulubei' National Institute for Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Reactorului 30, P.O.B. MG-6, RO-077125, Bucharest-Magurele (Romania)

Description

Due to its unique pseudorapidity coverage and the possibility of extending measurements to low transverse momenta, LHCb provides important input to the understanding of particle production in a kinematic range where QCD models have large uncertainties. Measurements of charged, strange and charmed particle production and energy flow are performed in the approximate pseudorapidity range 2 < η < 5, which corresponds to the acceptance of the LHCb spectrometer. The results are compared to predictions given by several Monte Carlo event generators. (authors)
