Possibility of polarized protons acceleration in the IHEP accelerator

Description
Possibility of accelerating polarized protons in the IHEP accelerator is considered. Results of calculation of power of depolarizing spin resonances are presented. Possibility is considered of partial changes in the accelerator magnetic structure for arrangement of magnetic systems of ''snake'' type to exclude the beam depolarization. It is chown that introduction of a helical transverse ''snake''-type field in two opposite straght gaps of the accelerator is most effective. Structural functions for changed superperiod and undisturbed structure are shown. The conducted investigations have shown that it is really possible to accelerate polarized protons in the IHEP accelerator after solving some rather complicated technical problems
