Transition to turbulence, intermittence, and fluctuation in vortices

Description

This paper shows that the mechanism of coalescence of the vortices is decisive in turbulent flows with moderately large Reynolds numbers irrespective of the number of dimensions. A comparison of the calculations of this study with experimental data shows that the flows remain transitional (intermittent) up to very large values of the Reynolds number
