Description

The influence of Co 60 gamma-radiation on spectral - luminescent properties of some xanthene dyes (uranine, rodamine) in a solid polymer matrix and a liquid solvent has been investigated. Characteristic times of radiating destruction of dyes in solutions are determined. It is shown, that radiating destruction of solutions occurs as a result of dye molecules interaction with oxygen-containing radicals formed at solvents radiolysis. Practical recommendations for increase of radiating stability of xanthene dyes solutions are given. It is shown, that investigated solutions have low fading and can be used as detector of dose and detector of power dose of gamma-radiation, for example, for territories and objects radio - ecology monitoring.
