Dose build-up factors of a point isotropic source behind a steel tube barrier
Description
The dose build-up factors of a point isotropic γ-source (137Cs, 60Co) behind a steel tube barrier filled with water are studied. The dose build-up is shown to increase smoothly with increase in the wall thickness irrespectively of a tube diameter. Tubes filled with wator increase the dose build-up on the average for 137Cs 1.5 times, and for 60Co → 1.10 times. The data presented may be used both in flaw detection and dosimetry
