Description
In this paper we have presented the flow profiles of the gas in the packing and the dry pressure drop respectively using commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. Due to the complexity of the geometry of the packing and intense requirement of the CPU time, calculations have been carried out for estimation of pressure drop and flow pattern for only gas flow though both gauze type and sheet type corrugated packing with different combinations of packing elements as: a) 2 sheet model for corrugated sheet packing, b) 2 sheet model for corrugated gauze packing, c) Packing element model for corrugated sheet packing, d) Packing element model for corrugated gauze packing
