Description
Reactions of dibromide Br2 - radical anions in potassium bromide melt, doped with bivalent iron were investigated by the method of pulsed radiolysis. It is shown that the product of rapid reaction of solvated electron with Fe2+ reacts effectively with Br2- (rate constant 9.2x1010 dm3/(mol.s)). Reaction of Br2- with bivalent iron ions is characterized by low rate constant (<106 dm3/(mol.s)). This is explained by sufficiently high value of Fe3+/Fe2+ redox potential. 11 refs.; 2 figs
