State and development of the natural gas supply in East Germany
Description
During the last 4 years a visible change has taken place in the gas industry of East Germany. The main task to be solved has been the extension of an area-covering natural gas supply. As a result the following measures have been realized: adaption from the prevailing town gas supply to natural gas supply, enlargement and diversification of natural gas deliveries, extension of supraregional, regional and municipal gas networks and strengthening of the position of natural gas on the thermal market. The growing part of natural gas in the structure of the primary energy balances, shifts within the sectors of natural gas consumption, the increased number of flats heated with natural gas, and the decrease of pollutant emissions are evidence of this development. Abstract (German)
In den letzten 4 Jahren hat sich in der Gaswirtschaft Ostdeutschlands ein deutlicher Wandel vollzogen. Die wichtigste Aufgabe war der Ausbau der flaechendeckenden Erdgasversorgung. Dabei wurden bereits wesentliche Ergebnisse erzielt: Umstellung der bisherigen Stadtgasversorgung auf Erdgas, Erweiterung und Diversifizierung der Erdgasbezuege, Erweiterung der ueberregionalen, regionalen und staedtischen Gasnetze und Ausbau der Marktposition des Erdgases auf dem Waermemarkt. Erkennbar wird diese Entwicklung in dem zunehmenden Anteil des Erdgases in der Struktur der Primaerenergiebilanz, in den Verschiebungen innerhalb der Sektoren des Erdgasverbrauchs, dem Anstieg der erdgasbeheizten Wohnungen und im Absinken der Schadstoffemissionen.
