Description

The paper provides characteristic of soil-and-vegetation cover on three stationary wood radioecological sites located in the flood plains in the Techa and Iset Rivers within the Kurgan region and those located at the distance od 186, 237 and 380 km away from radioactive contamination source ('Mayak' Production Association, South Ural). It also provides data on the vertical distribution of 90Sr and 137Cs on 60 cm thick layer of soil, Radionuclide content in forest substrate, branches, needles (leaves), bark and wood of a Scotch pine, larch, and birch. The comparison with radioecological condition of flood plain woods in the Chelyabinsk region located upstream of the Techa River is given. (author)
