Radiation processes in crystalline and amorphous dielectrics
Description
A review on primary and secondary radiation processes in dielectrics is presented. The analysis is performed taking into account common characteristics of these processes in crystalline and amorphous dielectrics, and the radiolysis model by Jain-Lidiard has been further worked out, which allows to explain radiolysis processes in dielectrics at high temperatures and high dose rates. Photo- and radiation excitations have been shown to have much in common for As-S and As-Se amorphous systems. In conclusion there discussed the problems of radiation resistance for dielectrics and the application of radiation in solid state electronics (radiation induced phase transitions of ''crystal → amorphous'' state including)
