About the detection of particles with liquid argon ionisation chambers
Description
Using an ionisation chamber, it has been shown, that the number of collected charge carriers in liquid argon is strongly influenced by addition of oxygen and nitrogen. Moreover the spatial resolution of hadronic cascades and the possibilities to separate electrons from hadrons have been investigated in liquid argon calorimeters. (orig.)

Mit Hilfe einer Ionisationskammer konnte gezeigt werden, dass die Zahl der gesammelten Elektronen in fluessigem Argon durch Zusaetze von Sauerstoff und Stickstoff stark beeinflusst wird. Ausserdem wurden an Fluessig-Argon Kalorimetern die Ortsaufloesung fuer hadronische Schauer und die Genauigkeit, mit der Elektronen und Hadronen getrennt werden koennen, untersucht. (orig.)
