Dynamical breakdown of chiral symmetry in vectorial theories: QED and QCD

Description

Using a variational approach for the Effective Potential for composite operators we dicuss the dynamical breakdown of chiral symmetry in two vectorial theories: Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). We study the energetic aspects of the problem calculating the Effective Potential with the asymptotic nonperturbative solutions of the Schwinger-Dyson equation for the fermion selfenergy. (author)

Estuda-se a Quebra Dinamica da Simetria Quiral (QDSQ) em duas teorias vetoriais: a Eletrodinamica Quantica (QED) e a Cromodinamica Quantica (QCD), atraves de uma abordagem variacional do Potencial Efetivo para operadores compostos. Estuda-se a energetica do problema calculando o Potencial Efetivo com as solucoes assintoticas nao perturbativas, da equacao de Schwinger-Dyson para a autoenergia dos fermions. (autor)
