Description

One of the four significant projects of the Chinese CIAE is concerned with construction of the experimental fast reactor (CEFR). The conceptual design started in 1990. This is sodium cooled 65 MWt reactor fuelled with (Pu,U) O2, but the first loading was UO2. Cr-Ni austenitic steel was used as fuel cladding, and reactor block structure material. It is a pool type reactor with two main pumps, and two loops for primary and secondary cooling respectively
