Auger spectra, band structure, Coulomb parameters, and ionic charges in La1.85(Sr,Ba)0.15CuO4

Description

The copper L3VV and oxygen KVV Auger electron high-resolution spectra of La1.85(Sr,Ba)0.15CuO4 have been measured. The experimental data are compared with local-density-approximation band-structure results obtained by the LMTO method within the virtual-lattice approximation. From this comparison the values of the intra-atomic parameters of the Cu(3d) and O(2p) orbitals are extracted. The mean effective charge of the oxygen ions is estimated from the ratio of the intensities of the oxygen KL1L1 and KL2,3L2,3 Auger lines. These results are compared to those for YBa2Cu3O7
