Description
The randon characteristics of the image formation process influence the spatial image obtained in a neutrongraphy. Several methods can be used to optimize this image, though estimation of the noise added to the original signal. This work deals with the optimal filtering technique, using Wiener's filter. A simulation is made, where the signal (spatial resolution function) has a Lorentz's form, and ten kinds of random noise with increasing R.M.S. are generated and individually added to the original signal. Wiener's filter is applied to different noise amplitudes and the behaviour of the spatial resolution function for our system is also analysed. (Author)

A imagem espacial formada numa neutrografia e muito afetada pela propria caracteristica randomica do processo de registro da imagem com neutrons. Existem diversos metodos para melhorar a qualidade dessa imagem que visam estimar as caracteristicas do ruido adicionado ao sinal. Este trabalho consiste em aplicar a tecnica de filtragem otima atraves do uso do Filtro de Wiener. Uma simulacao e realizada, onde o sinal (funcao resolucao espacial) tem a forma Lorentziana e dez versoes do ruido randomico com R.M.S. crescentes sao geradas e individualmente adicionadas ao sinal de origem. O Filtro de Wiener e aplicado para diferentes amplitudes de ruido e uma analise do comportamento da funcao resolucao espacial para o sistema especifico e realizada. (Autor)Additional details
