The output power of one electric power production unit has been becoming ten times more important during the last twenty years, reaching 1300 MW for the last nuclear units. Power system disturbances induce stresses on turbine generator units. The potential damage can be investigated in terms of shaft loss of life. A balance between risk of generator failure and loss of customer service represents the ever present challenge

La puissance unitaire des groupes de production d'energie electrique a decuple durant les deux dernieres decennies, atteignant 1300 MW pour les groupes nucleaires les plus recents. Les perturbations affectant le reseau de transport d'energie electrique ont des repercussions sur les groupes de production. Celles-ci peuvent etre evaluees en terme de consommation de duree de vie des arbres.
