Effects of high molecular DNA on radiation-induced digestive dysfunction

Description
Digestive dysfunction following irradiation was studied in prometamorphic Xenopus tadpoles. Clearing time of food particles served as an index both for the radiation damage and the recovery following treatment with DNA. The phenomenon was particularly investigated in the course of seven experiments. Treatment with high molecular homologous liver DNA and heterologous calf thymus DNA showed protective, as well as, therapeutic effects. (author)
