Description
Urothelial Carcinoma mainly occurs in adults, compared to renal cell carcinoma, it is relatively rare, but it is a malignant tumor originating from the urinary epithelium that constitutes the mucosal layer of the urinary tract where urine travels from the buds and the renal pelvis to the urethra. Cancers that occur in the urinary tract epithelium are commonly referred to as urothelial carcinoma and can be divided into renal cancer, ureter cancer, bladder cancer, and urethral cancer according to the organs that occur. The most frequent cancer is bladder cancer, followed by renal Pelvic ureter cancer. Urothelial Carcinoma is the second most common cancer in the genitourinary system in Korea. Bladder cancer is a malignant tumor of the bladder, and it is more common in people in their 60 years old and 70 years old. Men are at higher risk than women. Pelvic ureter cancer is more common in men, especially among the elderly aged 65 and older. In recent years, the development of ultrasound enables early diagnosis of lesions, so early diagnosis through imaging is becoming important. We experienced a case of Urothelial Carcinoma in the ureter with hydronephrosis on Ultrasonography
