Search for single production of a vector-like T quark decaying into a top quark and a Higgs boson

Description

Many extensions of the Standard Model (SM) like the composite Higgs model or extra dimensions try to explain open questions which can not be explained by the SM. Several of these models predict heavy vector-like quarks. This analysis searches for single produced vector-like T quarks in pp-collisions at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC. Targeted is the decay of the vector-like T quark into a Higgs boson and a leptonically decaying top quark. The substructure of boosted jets is used to reconstruct Higgs candidates while top candidates are taken from the combination of leptons, missing transverse energy and jets. From the higgs and top candidates the hypothetical vector-like T quark is reconstructed. Results form the search vector-like T quarks at 13 TeV with the data from 2016 are shown.
