Uranium and thorium in the Novograd-Volynsk metamorphic complex of the North-Western Ukrainian Shield
Description
In rocks from Novograd-Volynsk complex uranium and thorium concentrations are dependent on the composition, metamorphism degree, content of biogenic carbon and geochemical specialization of substratum formations. Distribution of radioactive elements manifests signs, which are typical for the ideal profile of normal sedimentary cycle. Uranium and thorium are concentrated mainly in crystal lattice of accessory (zircon, titanite, apatite) and certain rock-forming minerals
